Apple's fix for overheating iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max is on its way, new report claims.

According to MacRumors, Apple is internally testing iOS 17.0.3, a new version of the company's mobile platform which could contain a fix for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models that run too hot.

Apple acknowledged the issue late last week after a slew of complaints from users, who said their iPhones occasionally get uncomfortably hot.

“We have identified a few conditions which can cause the iPhone to run warmer than expected. The device may feel warmer during the first few days after setting up or restoring the device because of increased background activity,” the company told Forbes.

The company also acknowledged a few iOS 17 bugs, as well as issues with third party software, and said that it's working with third party app developers to fix those.

The good news is that Apple said its fix for the overheating issues will not including throttling the phone's performance. The company also said the overheating does not happen due to flaws in the phone's hardware design.

Having had an iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max for nearly a month now, I haven't experienced any overheating issues, but the fact that Apple acknowledged the bugs means they're definitely there for some users.

There's no official news on what the iOS 17.0.3 contains or when it's coming out, though MacRumors says it's likely to come either later this week, or next week. The company's iOS 17.1, currently in developer beta, is also likely to contain the same fix.
