Itching to try Google's Bard AI chatbot? As of today, Google is removing the waitlist for Bard — once called "cringeworthy" by its own employees — and opening it up to over 180 countries and territories.
The tool will also be available in Japanese and Korean, expanding beyond English. And Google promises it's on track to support 40 more languages in the future. They note that adding languages "responsibly involves deep work to get things like quality and local nuances right," hedging their promise with this caveat just in case it takes a bit for more languages to become available
Google Bard is a chatbot powered by Google's PaLM 2 large language model. On Wednesday, Google announced during I/0 2023 that Bard is adding app integration to maximize its utility and collaborative potential.
This comes months after a troubled launch of the AI chatbot, which Google employees questioned heavily in the wake of its launch.
