Haas has named an unchanged driver line-up for 2024 with Kevin Magnussen and Nico Hulkenberg both retained by the American team. Hulkenberg, 36, had been without a full-time seat on the grid since 2019, but has impressed since replacing Mick Schumacher. Magnussen, 30, was handed a second stint with Haas on the eve of last season after Russian driver Nikita Mazepin was sacked. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Dutch Grand Prix, Haas team principal Guenther Steiner said: “It’s safe to say that we’ve had an extremely solid driver pairing this season in Formula One and ultimately there was no reason to look to change that moving forward. “Kevin is obviously a very well-known quantity to us, and I’m delighted he’ll return for what will be his seventh season in Haas colours. With 113 starts for our team alone, we know where his strengths lie and his knowledge and experience of our organisation pairs very well with that too. “On the other side of the garage, Nico’s simply slotted in without fuss or fanfare and proved himself to be a valuable member of the team. He’s approaching 200 starts in Formula One and we’re very happy to be the beneficiary of that experience behind the wheel.” Heading into the second half of this year’s 22-round campaign, Haas are eighth of 10 in the constructors’ standings. Hulkenberg scored the team’s best result of the season so far with a seventh place in Australia in April. He also qualified second at the Canadian Grand Prix in June, and has scored nine points to Magnussen’s two. “It’s nice to get things sorted early for next season to just keep the focus on racing and improving performance,” said the German. A restaurant reviewer has received her own damning assessment after she penned a brutal critique of what was clearly a lovely restaurant. The unnamed commentator awarded the establishment a one-star rating, which she accompanied with a lengthy explanation of why she’d been so unimpressed. She began her Yelp review by condemning the “cheap management and customer service” before, surprisingly, dedicating an entire paragraph to how fantastic it all was. “I heard the food was very good so I went to try. Me and the [boyfriend] got the calamari, spaghetti alle vongole, and gnocchi. All were very delicious,” she wrote. She seemed very happy about it.” Then, in a surprise turn of events, she continued: “I was wrong. “I thought that she would be grateful for the free advertising but when the check came there was literally no discount at all. “I thought at least one of the entrees (American for main course) would be taken off but they didn’t even take off the calamari or even the drinks!” Wrapping up her rant, she concluded: “I won’t go back there because of this. Which is a shame because the food was very good. “The manager needs to understand how to treat customers.” Her post has been met with horror, incredulity and more than 4,700 comments on Reddit since it was shared on the forum r/mildlyinfuriating earlier this week. “It’s literally the purpose of a restaurant,” one user pointed out. “They make good food. You eat it. You pay for it. Restaurant gets money. Serves the next table. Everyone is happy and moves on with their day.” “The sense of entitlement for having 11k followers on some random account is unreal,” wrote another. “I like the places that charge double to influencers,” remarked a third. “It’s not ‘free advertising’ if you’re expecting compensation in the form of free food,” noted a fourth. Meanwhile, scores of others agreed that her review had, in the end, worked in the restaurant’s favour. “I'm more likely to read a 1 star review at a place that has mostly good reviews [...] I want to know if there's a specific reason I shouldn't eat there,” one wrote. “This is effectively a 5 star review that more people are going to read than most other 5 star reviews.” Elsewhere, sceptics suggested that the whole thing was an ingenious publicity stunt. “This has got to be guerrilla marketing because the first thing I thought was ‘great food and they don't kowtow to influencers?? I want to go to there!’,” one said. And another added: “Kinda disappointed that we don't get to see the name of the restaurant. Julia Fox has shared a candid response to the criticism over her latest look at New York Fashion Week. During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, published on 7 September, Fox, 33, addressed the backlash she faced over the outfit, which consisted of a chain bra with metal pasties and chain bottoms that she was wearing underneath a black trench coat. As she described some of the remarks that people made about her look, she also questioned why the outfit was an issue in the first place. “I got in trouble for that one,” she said. “There were a lot of haters, being like: ‘This is unacceptable. This is setting such a bad example.’ But, it’s like: ‘Why?’ It’s just my body.’” The Uncut Gems star continued to make quips about why online trolls were criticising her body. “Is my body, like, ugly? Is my body a crime?” she joked. “Did my body slap your grandma? The way that they were acting, it was like, What the heck!” She also spoke candidly about why she chooses the memorable outfits she wears when attending major events. “If people could see what I dress like in my day to day, it’s literally like boxers, stained, dirty T-shirts, Adidas slides.
