I don’t go anywhere without my wireless earbuds. Nothing fancy: Just the Samsung Galaxy buds that I picked up for $40 a few Black Fridays ago. Their comfortable fit, ease of pairing, and ambient noise feature (which is not quite active noise cancelling, but a lot of earbuds nowadays come with that particular feature) have saved me from a headache when encountering high foot traffic, construction, and even just avoiding unwanted conversation.
If any of that sounds good to you, or even if you just want to listen to your music and podcasts or have a phone conversation hands-free, we’re here to help do just that and save you some money in the process.
Like with any other electronic device purchase, there are a number of things to consider: your budget, the brand and its compatibility with your other devices, and, of course, the features. Check out the specs below for a smoother shopping experience.
Sony WF1000XM5 Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds
$248.00 at Amazon$299.99 Save $51.99 See It
These Sony earbuds have it all: rich sound quality, superb in-call mic clarity, wireless charging via the included case, and hands free smart assistant access. Our in-depth review called them “the best noise-cancelling earphones for audiophiles” but also noted one negative: that these earbuds were expensive. So, knocking $50 off is a pretty good deal.
Beats Studio Buds Noise Cancelling Earbuds
$99.99 at Amazon$149.95 Save $49.96 See It
For a more affordable noise cancelling alternative, check out the Beats Studio Buds. Beats is an Apple owned brand, so these earbuds work flawlessly with your other Apple devices making pairing and utilizing on-ear controls easy. These don’t have a wireless charging option, however, so if you’ve still got Lightning cables or USB-A cables, you’ll need to buy an adapter as these ship with a USB-C charging cable. Check out our review for more details on their sound quality.
Apple AirPods (2nd Generation) with Wireless Charging Case
$99.99 at Amazon$129.00 Save $29.01 See It
This iteration of the Apple AirPods includes a wireless charging case, extending your battery life while on the go. While they don’t have the active noise cancellation feature of the AirPods Pro, they still offer great sound quality and not to mention they’re more affordable. Plus, the design that includes that little tail is more comfortable to some people (so swears my co-worker) than the newer, tailless design. So these are worth a look for that reason alone. If wireless charging is a non-issue for you, you can save $30 more on this version with a wired charging case.
