Disney+ has been feast or famine lately, and Ahsoka (which wraps up this month) wasn't nearly as good as we expected. However, spooky season is always fun on the streaming services, and this October is no exception. We get a new season of one of the best Marvel shows, the return of a middle grade horror legend, and more. Here are our picks for the best new content streaming on Disney+ this month.
Loki: Season 2 (Oct. 5)
The Disney+ Marvel series have been uneven in quality to say the least, and Secret Invasion especially left a pretty foul taste in our mouths. But we'll return for Loki, of course. The Norse god of mischief is back to navigate the multiverse in search of his female alter ego and Kang's lost love Ravonna before we get catastrophic reality ramifications. The first season was great fun and we expect more of the same.
Goosebumps (Oct. 13)
R. L. Stine's bazillion-selling series of horror paperbacks have been a mainstay of middle school reading clubs for decades, and this new Disney+ series brings it to the screen with nice juicy production values. It's not a straight adaptation, but rather an episodic series where a group of teens have to reckon with supernatural nasties that have a strange connection to their Gen X parents. This series also premieres on Hulu the same day.
Primal Survivor: Extreme African Safari (Oct. 25)
Survival expert Hazen Audel heads to Africa to explore the continent's majestic Great Rift Valley, where he will discover the astounding diversity of wildlife and humanity. This is a gorgeously photographed National Geographic series that is eminently bingeable, and Audel is a magnetic and charming personality.
