Leigh-Anne Pinnock unveils the three wedding dresses she wore to marry Andre Gray in Jamaica
Leigh-Anne Pinnock has offered fans a glimpse into her wedding to Andre Gray by sharing a set of exclusive photographs from their wedding album on Instagram. The couple got married in Jamaica on 3 June after six years together; they welcomed twins in August 2021. On Monday (31 July), the 31-year-old Little Mix star shared a series of photos alongside the caption: “03/06/23 I married my soul mate.” The first snap showed Pinnock and Gray kissing at the alter on the beach. Others showed them walking down the aisle hand in hand with the ocean behind them. Pinnock also posted photos of herself with her bridesmaids getting ready for the ceremony, with four of them holding up her skirt as she turned away from the camera. In another post, Pinnock shared photographs of her and Gray walking into their reception dinner holding hands. The two are then seen dancing together and posing later on in the night. “More wedding SPAM incomingggg [sic],” Pinnock captioned the post. The posts reveal that Pinnock and Gray each wore several outfits on the night. For Pinnock, the first gown was an embellished Princess-style gown with a full tulle skirt and an ivory bodice that featured a corset-style top with mesh sleeves. The gown also featured a long train with the words: “We’ve crossed the line”. Gray, who plays football for Greek club Aris, wore a white suit jacket with black trousers for the ceremony, which he then followed with a black waistcoat, black trousers, and white shirt for the reception. For her second outfit, Pinnock chose a silver fishtail gown with a plunging neckline and an open back. Finally, the musician changed into a mesh gown that featured corset-stye boning with a sheer overlay that had a slit up to her thigh. The photos come after Pinnock announced that she is set to release her first memoir. The singer, who performed with Little Mix from 2011 to 2022, shared a video to Instagram on Monday (17 April) announcing her autobiography. In the clip, Pinnock can be seen sipping a cup of tea and reading from the book, before explaining that the memoir is “so special to me”. “I hope you guys love it as much as I do,” she said. “Ever since we won The X Factor back in 2011, I feel like I’ve been in a whirlwind,” she captioned the video. “I’ve had some life-changing moments that up until now, I’ve never really had the chance to process. “Maya Angelou once said, ‘You can’t really know where you are going until you know where you have been’ so with this in mind and before I embark on this new journey, I want to respect my past; my life, my heritage, family, identity and most importantly, embracing & believing in my own power.” Believe will be released on 26 October. Christina Aguilera stuns fans with mind-bending purse skirt
Christina Aguilera stuns fans with mind-bending purse skirt
Why wear an Hermes Birkin bag on your arm, when you can don a lookalike around your waist? Christina Aguilera wowed fans with a daring style choice, but this time she made viewers do a double take when she shared a photo of herself wearing bottoms designed to look like the most sought-after luxury accessory. In her 31 July Instagram post, Aguilera posed in front of a grey tile wall, assuming her most Barbie self in a dazzling pink Namilia micro purse skirt. The brand’s 2024 spring collection piece mirrors the form of a Birkin bag, handles and everything. A half-moon strap is stitched between three crystal flaps which are detailed with silver buckles identical to the Hermes model. In the photo, Aguilera is seen gripping the front handle with her long nails. The 42-year-old music icon teamed up with her stylist Chris Horan to pair the Avant Garde piece with a classic black T-shirt, see-through kitten heels, a messy 90s bun, and wraparound moto sunglasses. “Precious goods,” she wrote, signing the caption with a pink bow emoji. Mesmerised viewers rushed to Aguilera’s comment section to compliment her subversive look. “She’s in her bag,” one fan joked, while another said: “Barbie legend.” “Xtina is such a legend! She looks effortlessly perfect here,” someone else added. Founded in 2015 by Nan Li and Emilia Pfohl, Namilia is a Berlin-based forward-thinking brand using ready-to-wear designs to symbolise cultural beliefs. Their spring 2024 collection debuted during Berlin Fashion Week, titled: “In Loving Memory of My Sugar Daddy.” This season’s line is a rebellious ode to “the self-made millionaire that is the gold digger,” according to the brand’s website. “She navigates through gender inequality head-on.” The “Genie in a Bottle” singer’s eye-catching purse skirt was just one of many designs that utilised the structure of the renowned Birkin bag on the runway. In addition to the pink micro skirt was a full-length glossy version adorned with a drop train, an enormous tote that says, “Tragic,” and a corset, all marked with the Hermes handbag design. Eva Mendes shows off dress made out of sponges as she jokes it’ll be her Oscars outfit
Eva Mendes is ready to soak up her competition at the 2024 Oscars. The actress showed herself in a dress entirely made out of sponges on Monday in a recent Instagram post. The gown was covered in green, orange and blue sponges that are actually her Skura Style kitchen sponges. She became a co-owner and brand ambassador of the company back in May 2022. The sponges are one of the brand’s newer products and are meant to indicate when a user should throw it out in favour of a new sponge. The key is to wait until the black logo completely disappears. Mendes finished off the look with gold accents including a single bangle, dangle earrings and a thick chain necklace. Her hair was done in a half-up style with a gold clip securing it in addition to neon green sunglasses. To fully round out the summer vibes of the outfit, Mendes wore a bright pink lip and blush. “Oscar lewk? Met Gala,” her Instagram caption read as she teased where she might be wearing the adventurous outfit. “Is this what they mean when they say ‘clean fashion’?” she jokingly continued. Mendes said she would be updating her post based on other jokes about the sponge dress written in the comments section by her fans. “It’s very Haute Skuture,” one of the jokes read. However, most fans were too busy applauding the actress for making any outfit look good regardless of the choice of medium. “Btw you are stunning, even covered by sponges,” one fan wrote, while another said: ““BETTER SEE THIS LOOK AT THE OSCARS.: Other fans were curious where they could actually buy one of these dresses, only to be disappointed to learn it’s not for sale. “Not me one second away to compliment you on this dress and ask where it’s from just to realise it’s your product…” one comment began. “...You ship to Sweden, right?” “I think we need that print of dress in our life now,” another comment read. Mendes replied that it might become one of the newest fashion crazes. “It started out as a joke but I’m kinda vibing it now!” The Place Beyond the Pines star replied to a comment. She’s not the only one to fawn over the sponges as her longtime partner, Ryan Gosling, praised them while doing press for the Barbie movie, which is currently playing in theaters. Mendes pinned the video to her Instagram with Gosling saying, “It’s an amazing sponge!” The pair is known for supporting each other across social media as Mendes also used a sponge ad as an opportunity to promote Gosling’s movie. “Ken gives @skurastyle products a ‘Ken out of Ken,” the caption of another Instagram post reads. “Link in my bio for my kitchen kenessentials. Okay, too many Ken puns for one post. Kenenough is Kenenough. D**n! I did it aken!” The pair have been together since 2011 and have two children together, daughters named Amada Lee, seven, and Esmeralda Amada, eight. Psoriasis Awareness Month: Everything you need to know
Psoriasis Awareness Month: Everything you need to know
Psoriasis has been a hot topic in the health world in recent years, thanks in part to one very vocal – and very famous – celebrity. Kim Kardashian has shared the ups and downs of her experience with the skin condition on TV and social media, and penned a piece on the subject for her sister Kourtney’s website Poosh. “When I was 25, I had my first psoriasis flare-up,” the reality star and entrepreneur wrote. “I got a common cold, and since psoriasis is an autoimmune condition, this triggered it. It was all over my stomach and legs.” After an injection of cortisone recommended by a dermatologist, the symptoms went away for five years, but came back when Kardashian was in her 30s. “Psoriasis can start at any age, but most often develops in adults between 20 and 30 years old, and between 50 and 60 years old,” says Dr Nisa Aslam, a GP from Typharm’s Skin Life Sciences Foundation. “The severity varies greatly. For some people, it may be relatively minor, whilst for others, psoriasis has a huge impact on quality of life.” In the case of Kardashian, her psoriasis – which has no known cure – also went away during her two pregnancies, but came back after and has fluctuated ever since. “I’ve become extremely comfortable with my psoriasis,” she continued in her essay, revealing that sometimes she covers it up with body make-up and sometimes she doesn’t. “I hope my story can help anyone else with an autoimmune disease feel confident that there is light at the end of the tunnel.” To mark Psoriasis Awareness Month in August, these are the key facts you need to know about the chronic condition… What are the symptoms of psoriasis? “Psoriasis is a type of skin disease that affects about 2% of the population of the UK,” says consultant dermatologist Dr Natalia Spierings, author of Skintelligent: What You Really Need To Know To Get Great Skin. “Patients develop thickened red plaques of skin with thick silvery white scale over the top.” The most common places for plaques to appear are the backs of the elbows, the front of the knees, the scalp and the lower back. They may be itchy or painful. “On brown and black skin, the patches can also be purple or dark brown in colour, and the scales may look grey,” says Aslam. Psoriasis is also linked with an inflammatory form of arthritis, known as psoriatic arthritis, which Kim Kardashian was diagnosed with in 2019. Aslam explains: “Psoriatic arthritis affects the nails, joints and can affect the eyes, the cardiovascular system and may cause insulin resistance, leading to diabetes.” What is it caused by? “Psoriasis is an ‘immune-mediated’ disease, which means that the skin is inflamed, due to a dysfunction or abnormality in how the immune system works,” Spierings says. Doctors believe that an overactive immune system speeds up skin cell turnover, which causes plaques. “Normal skin cells will grow and then shed off the top of the surface of the skin in a cycle which takes approximately a month,” Spierings continues. “In psoriasis, this process is sped up to only three or four days, so the skin doesn’t have time to shed off, and therefore the scale builds up on the skin.” Diet and lifestyle factors can cause flare-ups of the condition. “Known triggers include drinking excessive alcohol; family history; smoking; stress and hormonal changes, for instance during puberty and menopause,” says Aslam. “Plus certain medicines such as betablockers, used to treat high blood pressure; throat infections; other immune disorders and skin injuries. Obesity has been shown to double the risk of psoriasis.” What treatments are available? While there is no cure for the chronic condition, it is possible to treat the symptoms during flare-ups. “There are a variety of effective prescribed skin treatment options, from steroid ointments and creams, to the development of new formats like medicated tapes such as Fludroxycortide tape,” says Aslam. “This is a transparent medicated surgical tape impregnated with the steroid Fludroxycortide, which can be cut to size. When applied to the skin, it helps to reduce redness, swelling and itching.” UV light or sun exposure has also been shown to help psoriasis. “But remember that uncontrolled sun exposure also increases your risk of skin cancer and premature ageing,” says Spierings. “If you want to use sunlight therapy for your psoriasis, it is best to do this via a dermatologist using special machines to deliver the UV treatment.” Because it’s an inflammatory condition, psoriasis can be affected by what you eat. “Certain foods, particularly ultra-processed foods high in fat, salt and sugar may cause an inflammatory response,” says Aslam. “It’s important to stick to a healthy diet with plenty of vegetables, fruits, wholegrains, beans and lentils, and oily fish with small amounts of lean meat, and small amounts of dairy if liked.” She adds: “Finding the most effective therapy is often a matter of trial and error, so it’s important to keep going back to your doctor, or dermatologist, for advice.” Psoriasis and mental health It’s important to note that skin conditions like psoriasis can have a detrimental impact on mental health. “A recent Typharm survey found that 23% of those surveyed think others believe they are infectious and 19% think they are perceived as unhygienic,” Aslam says. However, it is not contagious or caused by poor hygiene. “Patients with psoriasis have a high risk of developing depression because of their skin problem,” says Spierings. “It is incredibly important to seek proper treatment if you have psoriasis or think you may have it.” Read More Charity boss speaks out over ‘traumatic’ encounter with royal aide Ukraine war’s heaviest fight rages in east - follow live How to dress in rainy summer weather How to make the Prince of Wales’s Earthshot burger 13 potential cancer symptoms you should get checked out
